BMW Performance Driving School Information

General Information

The BMW Performance Driving School experience at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a once in a lifetime intensive where you will drive on the historic track. This event happens rain or shine. Drivers must be 18 and older with a valid driver’s license to participate.

BMW Performance Driving School Agendas

Full Day M Intensive at Indy Agenda

• 8 - 8:30 a.m.: Arrival and registration
• 8:30 - 9:15 a.m.: Class Discussion
• 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Group Rotation of three morning events:
  • Rotation 1 - Track section 1
  • Rotation 2 - Track section 2
  • Rotation 3 - Skid Pad
• 12 - 1 p.m.: Lunch
• 1 - 3:30 p.m.:
  • Lead / Follow Session 1 / Vehicle 1
  • Lead / Follow Session 2 / Vehicle 2
  • Timed Autocross
• 3:30 - 4 p.m.: Instructor Hot Laps
• 4 - 4:15 p.m.: Wrap up and farewell

Half Day M Experience at Indy Agenda

AM session:

• 7:45 - 8:30 a.m.: Arrival and registration
• 8:30 - 9 a.m.: Class Discussion
• 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Lead/Follow on track Timed Autocross Drag Race Hot Laps with instructor
• Concludes with lunch

PM Session:

• 12:15 - 1 p.m.: Arrival, registration and lunch
• 1 - 1:30 p.m.: Class Discussion
• 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.: Lead/Follow on track Timed Autocross Drag Race Hot Laps with instructor

Half-Day Experience - $699

Want to see what it takes to conquer the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course? Join BMW for their half-day (8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 – 4 p.m.) driving experience where you will get behind the wheel for a drag race, lead/follow, and timed autocross stations, and will end the day in the passenger seat with a professional instructor as you navigate the 14-turn road course at full speed. 

Full-Day Experience - $2,550

For those looking to take the next step in their driving skills, the full-day (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) experience builds on the fundamentals of the half-day. In addition to lead/follow instruction and a timed autocross session, you will add time on the skid pad to your coursework. In this program, your day ends with turn-by-turn instruction on the IMS Road Course, and full-speed laps this time with you behind the wheel. 

Experience Information

• Must be age 18 or older with a valid driver’s license to participate
• Experience occurs rain or shine; No Postponement, No Rain Check, No Refunds
• Full Day Program is 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Half Day Program is 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 – 4 p.m.
• BMW Performance School vehicles feature automatic transmissions
