Indy 500 Porch Parties

Porch Parties are an annual tradition that bring neighbors and race fans together in celebration of the Indianapolis 500. Race fans are encouraged to demonstrate what “This is May” means to them by hosting racing-themed gatherings and outfitting their gathering spaces in the spirit of the Indianapolis 500 through checkered flags, odes to Indy 500 traditions and Indianapolis Motor Speedway icons. It’s not just about porches; we invite race fans to decorate their balconies, garages, bars, or anywhere that they gather friends and family, to celebrate the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Here are a few easy steps to get you ready for porching:

1. Get your decorations! IMS is hosting ten Coca-Cola Indy 500 Porch Parties that you can pick up a free Starter Kit (while supplies last). Even more porching essentials can be purchased at shop.ims.com

2. Decorate your porch, bar, backyard, lawn, balcony, or any communal gathering space. Incorporate checkered decor, any of the Indy 500 traditions (milk, Kiss the Bricks, etc.), the Indy 500 logo, or any other IMS-inspired decor that you can think of.

3. Throw a Porch Party with your friends, family, and neighbors and celebrate the spirit of the Indy 500. Prepare food and drinks and enjoy this time connecting with your neighbors, all while jamming out to our Porch Party playlist to set the perfect vibe for your celebration!

4. Take pictures of your Porch Party to share on social media and register your decorated home, business, or gathering space to participate in the official Indy 500 Porch Party Decorating Contest.
