Milk Bottle Scavenger Hunt with Local Bike Organizations Celebrates 50 Days

Bike to the 500 presented by CIBA-Bike Indianapolis is back for its 10th year, offering fans a fun and fast way to get to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Sunday, May 25.

The escorted, 5-mile Race Day ride starts at the AMP at 16 Tech. Uniformed officers and ride leaders are on hand to help guide participants of all ages. Riders can choose from two departure times, 7:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m., allowing the most loyal fans to arrive in time for prerace ceremonies. Bike to the 500 offers hassle-free valet parking near the iconic Gate 1 entry of IMS.

“Bike to the 500 is a fun and unique way for our fans to travel to IMS on Race Day,” INDYCAR and IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “When you have more than 350,000 fans heading in the same direction for ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,’ biking is one of the fastest ways to get to the track, and it is a great way to enjoy the commute with fellow fans.”

Tickets to participate in Bike to the 500 are available starting Saturday, April 5, which also marks 50 days until the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of the event and can be purchased here. Tickets to the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge are sold separately. Bike to the 500 benefits CIBA-Bike Indianapolis, an organization with the mission to get more people cycling through advocacy, education and opportunities to ride.

“The Indianapolis 500 is steeped in tradition, and for many, this includes biking to IMS,” said Tess Woods of CIBA-Bike Indianapolis. “Bike to the 500 provides a safe and fun way for race fans to get to the Indianapolis 500. We encourage race fans to avoid the traffic and congestion on Race Day by participating in this event, the best way to get to ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.’”

To further celebrate 50 days until the Indianapolis 500 and encourage participation in Bike to the 500, three local Indianapolis bicycle organizations – Nine13Sports, Bicycle Garage Indy and Indy Cycle Specialist – are participating in a milk bottle scavenger hunt.

These three bicycle organizations are giving away a total of 50 milk bottles co-branded with the 2025 Indy 500 and Bike to the 500 logos via their social media accounts and school bike programs. Fans should visit the social media accounts of these organizations to learn more, participate in trivia and potentially locate one of the hidden bottles.
